Today the property is known as Villa San Nicolino, according to a legend started back in 1910
when the locals started to believe in the “miracle of the spring”.

The story says that a young boy living in the area, while he was sourcing water from the spring – which still exists at the beginning
of the road that leads up to the property – was crying because his father was ill.

A monk arrived and told him that soon he would be better, and it actually happened.

When the young boy mentioned the encounter to the priest he imagined it was Saint Nicola from Tolentino, so the property was then named “Villa San Nicolino”.
